Avondale to Midtown Bike Ride 4.11.08 : Wow!  What a ride!  Kathy and I traveled about 18 miles from Avondale Station all the way to Midtown Atlanta and back.  We covered Decatur, Druid Hills and Atlanta in one day! It was incredibly beautiful with old houses and spring trees.

Stone Mountain Cemetery 1.12.08 with Lightning Strike! : Check out the Brown's inscription on their tombstone.  Guarantee you've seen nothing like this before! Calhoun Airport : Calhoun Airport is the home to many of the Atlanta Trikers--powered hang gliders.  On the afternoon of November 18th, Kathy and I watched from the upstairs patio and saw trikes, ultralights, rotorcraft (mini-helicopters), parasailing and acrobatics!  Super cool!

Baylor University, Waco, TX 2007 : Baylor University is where I did my undergrad work.  I got a double major in Radio/TV/Film and in Oral Communications.  Baylor has come a long way since I graduated in 1980.  One of the newest additions in the Mayborn Museum--a world class exhibition of artifacts including complete skeletons of Mastadons!

Buckhead, GA & Ben Franklin Exhibit : K and I made a lovely trip downtown to Buckhead.  It was a gorgeous morning.  New buildings being added to the skyline.

Chattanooga Choo Choo : In 1929 this train was made famous as the "Chattanooga Choo Choo."  It was the first railroad line from Cincinnati in the North to Chatta in the South.  I especially liked the big arches in this building which is now a Holiday Inn.

Chattanooga February 2006 : These shots are from our trip to Chattanoonga mid February.  It was overcast, rained sometimes, nearly freezing.  In fact there are pictures of tiny snow pellets, unusual formations I've never seen before.  The pictures are taken primarily at the Chattanooga Nature Center and Reflection Riding sanctuary.

Dahlonega & N. GA mountains : On November 11-12, 2005 Kathy and I took an overnite road trip to the N. GA mountain to see the leaves change colors.  It was a beautiful sight!  We enjoyed hiking a short while on the famous Appalachian trail.  We stayed at the Super 8 Motel in Dahlonega, GA--the site of the first major gold rush in the USA.  I got to pan a little of the gold at Crisson's Gold Mine.  Fun!

Savannah/Tybee 2005 Spring Break : This year we went to Tybee beach near Savannah.  We also took Ashley's boyfriend Nick with us.  I got a separate room for Jesse and Nick.

We have shots of the lighthouse on Tybee, various restaurants we ate in, the ghost tour in Savannah and flowers around the squares.

The weather was rainy towards the end of our stay so we came on home to Atlanta a day early.

Washington, DC  Memorial Day '04 : I arrived into Washington on Memorial Day '04.  The first shots are from my room on the 8th floor of the Washington Hilton.  The next series were taken at sunset in the neighborhood around Connecticut Ave. and Q streets. The next day I attended the Faith Based and Community Initiatives conference hosted by the White House.  We listened to a speech by the president.  I then got to go meet him.  I have shots of the exhibits by the different Federal departments.  There was a recurring motif of painted bears throughout DC.  Atlanta has a similar mode but uses cows.  I have shots of the doors of the Congressmen and Senators that I went to see.  I took lots of pix of the capital building and the surrounding area.  Last shots are of the metro in DC and from 30,000ft on a Delta 707 bound for home.  God Bless America!

My run : Every day or so, I take off from my house at 1735 Pitty Pat Court, down Tarleton, right on Pucketts, left on Brown Lee and right on Pound towards the elementary school.  It's 1.5 miles one way.
